A SOGGY summer for wasps has left a sting in the tail for Cotswold District Council’s budget.
Not many people will have missed the sight of a swarming wasp’s nest in their home or garden.
But for CDC, the low number of nests has meant the council has lost out on around £16,000 this financial year.
According to a recent CDC report, the insects do not cope well with wet weather, which has meant a drop in call-outs for the council’s animal control officers from local residents and businesses.
